Laker swimmers second at Spuds triangular

The Laker swimming and diving team placed second at Tuesday’s Spuds Triangular in Moorhead.

Detroit Lakes scored 221 points to distance themselves from Fergus Falls with 162 and finished 50 points back of the host Spuds.

Moorhead took first place in 10 of 12 events with two Lakers nabbing the other two.

DL sophomore Emma Disse continued another consistent diving start to the season winning the 1-meter springboard event with 211.70 points. Disse was challenged by Moorhead’s Tabatha Roman a mere 1.1 points behind in second place and the Otters’ Camryn Appert with a third place total of 207.70, four points back.

Seventh-grade early season phenom Jennifer Tracy continues to pile up her own victories. Tracy won the 100-butterfly in a time of 1:03.78 beating out Fergus Falls junior Caitlin Hexum (1:11.57) and Moorhead junior Ani Mehnert.

DL’s Sydney Gulon added a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100-backstroke and 50-freestyle.

As did Clara Livermore, who placed second in the 200-individual medley and 100-breaststroke.
