The Detroit Lakes boys’ and girls’ cross country teams took to the Milaca Mega-Meet, where they ran against schools their own size in Class 3A.
The Laker girls finished in 11th out of 20 teams, while the boys were 16th out of 20.
Zach Foltz was the first DL boy runner in, marking a time of 17:08.0 for 16th place, while Austin Askelson was 71st, Anthony Meyer 85th, Paul Stewart 92nd and Jake Fritz 97th to round out DL’s team score.
Others who finished included Richard Bellefeuille in 110th and Connor Edvall taking 115th.
Winning the boys’ team title was Hutchinson, while the Tigers’ Isaiah Barlow won the individual crown with a 15:30.3.

The Laker girls ran a solid race, with Mackenzie Ostlie taking top honors in 31st for the team, with a time of 16:06.9. Mackenzie Foltz was DL’s second runner in at 50th place with a time of 16:55.2.
Other Laker finishers included Sara Schumacher (58), Annie Holzgrove (76), Rachel Wentz (77), Megan Ostlie (104) and Haley Groth (107).
Monticello took top honors.
The Lakers will be in Fergus Falls Thursday, for a 4 p.m. start.
