After playing their third game in four days, the gas tank was on empty for the Detroit Lakes girls' basketball team, and it showed during their 76-38 loss in Alexandria Monday.
The game, which was rescheduled from an earlier date due to inclement weather, was sluggish for the Lakers, as they trailed 47-13 by halftime.
"Having the third game in four days didn't help the girls' mental and physical ability to prepare for this one," said DL head coach Mike Hoganson. "Alexandria is a very good team and a tough match up for us."
The Cardinals flew out to a 14-2 lead, and kept on pulling away from the Lakers.
Guard Angela Christianson poured in 24 points, which included four three's in the first half.
