Winning in a hostile environment always adds a little extra to a victory, and that's exactly what the Detroit Lakes boys' basketball team did Friday in Crosby-Ironton.

The Lakers (11-3) were able to pick up another Mid-State Conference victory as well, after their 58-43 win over the Rangers.

Playing on C-I's home court always proves to be a tough task, but the Lakers used their trademark tough defense to limit the Rangers to 43 points.

"We played O.K., but had too many turnovers and allowed too many offensive rebounds," said DL head coach Robb Flint. "But we played solid enough to win, and that's good, especially in C-I."

DL held a 29-20 halftime advantage, as senior forward Josh Stalberger led the way with 22 points, which included 10 field goals.

Junior guard Joe Mollberg added 17 points, including a pair of three pointers, and junior post Brian Labat picked up 10 points and went for the double-double with 10 rebounds.

The Lakers will travel to Thief River Falls (9-4) Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. start. DL will also hit the road Friday, heading to Grand Rapids (9-6) for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
