DETROIT LAKES - A lone goal by the Green Wave’s Riley Koberinski held up in a 1-0 victory for East Grand Forks over the Laker girls soccer team Thursday night in Lakes to Prairie Conference action.
Paige Hjelle assisted on the game-winner.
The Laker offense dominated play in the second half but was denied by a number of spectacular saves made by EGF keeper Sam Rarick.
Rarick made a diving stop of a Kyley Foster shot in the opening 90 seconds of the half.
In the 56th minute, Casey Holt missed a solid opportunity to put EGF up 2-0 on a rebound attempt caromed to her from the crossbar.

Lindsey Heinecke and Foster had back-to-back scoring chances in the 68th minute and the Laker forwards peppered Rarick minutes later forcing the keeper to make an outstretched one-handed save, followed by a shot from point blank range.
Koberinski danced through the Laker defense into the scoring area and just missed on a slow-roller to the left corner late in the game.
