Windy conditions made for tough golfing as the Detroit Lakes boys squad finished in 14th out of 24 teams at Brooklyn Center Friday and Saturday for the Tri-State meet.
Wayzata won the tournament with a 314-312 for a final 626, while the Lakers scored a 332-330 – 662.
“The kids all had about 14 great holes and four terrible holes, which we will need to clean up,” said DL head coach Bob Gorden.
Senior Michael Herzog led the way for DL with a 164, while Tanner Schnathorst scored a 166 and Ben Mallow a 167.
Christian Hedstrom fired a 169, while Isaac Cihak played the first day with an 85 and Ben Unruh the second with an 89.

The Lakers were rained out Monday at Southview.
The Detroit Lakes Northwest Classic is this weekend, with tee times starting at 12:45 p.m. at the Detroit Country Club.
DL will be in first grouping with Wayzata and winner of the Tristate, Eden Prairie who won Class 3A last year with same team back and Forest Lake.
Other teams include Moorhead, Fargo North, Anoka, Eastview and White Bear Lake.
There will be a division II with White Bear Lake, Wayzata, Eden Prairie and Detroit Lakes fielding second teams.
