HAWLEY - Mira Ellefson scored a game-high 24 points and the No. 2 Minnesota Class 2A Hawley Nuggets ran away from Detroit Lakes early to win the Hawley Holiday girls basketball tournament championship game 56-34 Tuesday evening. The Nuggets took out two Class 3A teams in Sartell and Detroit Lakes to win the tournament. “We try to get it done,” senior guard Jody Noreen said. Hawley opened up a 14-0 lead holding the Lakers scoreless for the opening six minutes of play and held that advantage to a 32-18 lead at halftime.
