No Mercy III
The third installment of MMA fights will be staged Saturday night at Kent Freeman Arena.

DETROIT LAKES - “No Mercy III” presented by Driller Promotions, Minnesota’s premier mixed martial arts promotional company, is this Saturday, Sept. 6., at the Kent Freeman Arena. Area MMA fans packed the arena in May for No Mercy II and this third installment has a similar number of local fighters and big names, along with fundraising for Dan Kiser, who was injured, suffering a brain injury, in the May fight and is still recovering. In August, Dan’s father, Dan Kiser, Sr. told DL Newspapers, ““Dan is progressing well, but he still has a lot of rehab in front of him. Even if he’s up walking on his own, with assistance, he still has a long road ahead.” This "No Mercy III" fight card is dedicated to Kiser. Five dollars of every ticket sold will be donated to his recovery and there will also be a spaghetti feed fundraiser Friday Night, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn - Detroit Lakes
“Please come show support for him and his continued recovery,” Event Organizer Chris Holt said. Local stars Brian Heden, Kyler Wegner and Gemenie Strehlow all take on very tough tests at NO Mercy III. Heden takes on 8-4 knockout artist Danyelle Williams from Owatonna, who is coming off a close five-round decision loss for the Driller Heavyweight title. Williams holds a knockout win over UFC and Bellator veteran Zak Jensen. Wegner will take on Anoka's Derek Smith, a veteran who holds the only win over star wrestler and recent UFC cut Josh Janousek. The doors open at 6 p.m. with fights beginning at 7 p.m. And after-party will be held at Holiday Inn at the Holiday Beach Bar and Grill immediately following the fights.
