Nordic skiing: Parks, Wolf pace Detroit Lakes at Maplelag

The Detroit Lakes Nordic skiing teams competed at their third home meet of the season and the first at Maplelag Resort on Thursday morning.

The boys took seventh place in the eight-team field. Casey Parks had the fastest time for the Lakers at 36:45.7. Zac Carlson (37:52) and Evan Thomas (41:50) followed.

Kira Wolf paced the girls team to a score of 266 with her 18th-place finish. She had the fastest time out of the six Lakers competing with a 37:12.2. Anna Askelson (38:21.4) and Julia Steffl (41:13.1) rounded out the top three for Detroit Lakes. Madi Gerdes (42:30.4), Maddie Blahut (45:15.1) and Lexi Gerdes (47:42) also finished the race.
