Panther comeback steals match from DL

DETROIT LAKES -- Park Rapids rallied for a 3-2 match win taking the final two sets to defeat the Lakers in Mid-State Conference volleyball Thursday night.

DETROIT LAKES - Park Rapids rallied for a 3-2 match win taking the final two sets to defeat the Lakers in Mid-State Conference volleyball Thursday night.

DL built a 2-1 lead after dropping the opening set 25-21.

The Lakers stomped on the Panthers 25-8 in a runaway second set and took the third 25-20.

Both teams battled to a 23-all tie in the fourth set.

Kennedy Carlson served an ace to give the Panthers set point and a diving dig by Kaisa Coborn sent back a kill attempt by Shay Nielsen and the Lakers failed to return the ball to even the match at two sets each.

Park Rapids led the entire deciding set after a tie at one point. Jaiden McCollumn scored the final point for the Panthers to seal the match.
