Boys basketball: Lakers fall to St. Cloud Tech on the road

The Detroit Lakes boys basketball team fell to St. Cloud Tech on Monday night in a Section 8-3A matchup.

ST. CLOUD – The Detroit Lakes boys basketball team suffered a tough loss in St. Cloud on Monday night against St. Cloud Tech.

The Tigers (10-6) showed they’re a threat to the Section 8-3A crown in a 10165 win over the Lakers (6-10). Detroit Lakes is still searching for its first section victory of the season despite a big night from its bench.

Devon Berg led the way for the Lakers with 16 points. He also added three rebounds, two steals and one steal. Mason Carrier (13) and Brandton Marsh (10) each went into double figures. Marsh also had a team-high seven rebounds. Ethan Carrier had a strong game off the bench with nine points and four rebounds. The Detroit Lakes bench scored 32-of-65 points.

Due to weather conditions, Thursday’s game at Crosby-Ironton (16-2) was postponed to Friday. The Lakers will be home on Tuesday night against Pequot Lakes (13-4).
