Boys basketball: Lakers get back in the win column against Grand Rapids

The Detroit Lakes boys basketball team pulled put a five-point win over the Thunderhawks on Saturday.

DETROIT LAKES – The Detroit Lakes boys basketball team got back on track on Saturday with a five-point win over Grand Rapids.

The Lakers (8-14) beat the Thunderhawks (6-16) 62-57 to get back in the win column after an ugly loss against Pequot Lakes.

Sophomore Mason Carrier had a team-high 25 points. His six rebounds were also tied for the team team-high with Brandton Marsh. Senior Nate Cihak had 17 points and four assists. Senior Chris Breeden also had seven points in the win.

The Lakers have six games left on the schedule to close out the regular season. On Tuesday, they host Moorhead (11-10) before back-to-back against Aitkin (6-12) and Little Falls (7-14) to close out the week.
