BEMIDJI – The Detroit Lakes boys golf team notched another top-three finish at the Bemidji Invitational on Monday afternoon.
Junior Ben Hines and sophomore Nick Tobkin paced the Lakers to a team score of 332. Hines and Tobkin each shot 10-over-par 82 on the day.
Hines rattled off three straight pars on the front nine before closing out the back nine with three more. He made eight in total during his round. Tonkin made a pair of birdies. The first came on No. 2 on a par three. He later birdied No. 10 on a par five.
Senior Jack Syltie was the third lowest-scoring later at 84. He made back-to-back birdies on Nos. 10 and 11 and finished the back nine two-over-par. Carter Whitworth was also 12-over-par on Monday. The eighth-grader birdied No. 10 as he shot 42 on each nine on the course.
Freshman Tommy Suckert recorded an 86, while junior Aiden Lunde came in at 92.

The Lakers were 16 strokes behind first-place Pequot Lakes and five strokes behind Bemidji.
