Boys soccer: Young scores twice as Lakers cruise past Pelican Rapids

The Detroit Lakes boys soccer team won its third straight game on Thursday with a 4-1 victory over Pelican Rapids.

PELICAN RAPIDS – The Detroit Lakes boys soccer team won its third straight game in a 4-1 victory over Pelican Rapids on Thursday.

The Lakers (4-1) got two more goals from Avery Young to beat the Vikings (1-2). Young scored nine minutes into the game before doubling the lead in the 55th minute.

Noah Rieber scored six minutes later to take a 3-0 lead before Mason Frank scored his first goal of the season to go up 4-0. Pelican Rapids got one back in the final five minutes.
