COLD SPRING – The Detroit Lakes boys track and field team had some standout performers at last Thursday's Rocori invite.
The Lakers took seventh place with a team score of 59.61. Zach Olson placed in the top eight in four events, including a first-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.20 seconds.
Olson also took second in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.51 seconds before running in the sixth-place 4x400-meter relay race with Jack Pace, Caden Strand and Jamus Walz to a time of 3:49.82. Olson also tied for eighth place in the high jump at 5-feet, 2-inches.
Alexander Fletcher took fourth place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.71. He also tied for third in the pole vault at 11-feet, and took fifth in the high jump at 5-feet, 6-inches.
Mason Carrier took fourth place in the 400-meter dash at 56.58 seconds. He also took fourth in the long jump at 18-feet, 4inches. Evan Thomas was right behind Carrier in sixth place at 17-feet, 10.5-inches.
Willmar won the meet with a team score of 138.83. Fergus Falls (118.5), Park Rapids (100), Rocori (89.11) and Sauk Rapids-Rice (75.11) rounded out the top-five team scores.
Detroit Lakes' meet on Tuesday in Park Rapids was canceled due to weather conditions.
