Girls soccer: Bettcher stands tall in Lakers' 1-0 loss against St. Cloud Tech

ST. CLOUD – A late goal separated St. Cloud Tech and the Detroit Lakes girls soccer team on Saturday.

Maggie O’Hara’s strike in the 72nd minute lifted the Tigers (8-3-2) over the Lakers (5-8) to a 1-0 victory.

St. Cloud Tech attempted 31 shots, with 27 of them reaching Lakers’ goalkeeper Elle Bettcher. Bettcher made 27 saves in the loss.

Detroit Lakes has three games left in the regular season. After hosting Hillcrest Lutheran Academy (3-5-1) on Tuesday, they will travel to Bemidji (6-5-2) on Thursday before hosting Moorhead (2-10-1) on Saturday in the regular-season finale.
