Girls swimming and diving: Detroit Lakes finishes third at Bemidji Invitational
The Detroit Lakes girls swimming and diving team had a handful of top-two finishes at the second Bemidji Invitational this fall on Saturday.
BEMIDJI – The Detroit Lakes girls swimming and diving team competed in the second Bemidji Invitational this fall.
The Lakers took third place behind a handful of first-place finishes. Hope Hamm won the diving competition with a score of 338.80. Kylie Tulius wasn’t far behind in fifth place at 300.57 points.
Faith Hamm finished in first place in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events. She clocked in at 57.28 in the 100 and 2:07.23 in the 200.
Marin Westrum also locked up a first-place finish. She paced the pack in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:31.23. She also took second in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:09.25. Ryle Wendt also secured a second-place finish with a 1:10.20 time in the 100-yard backstroke.
Park Rapids won the meet with a team score of 515, followed by Bemidji in second (373) and Detroit Lakes in third (359).
