Girls track and field: Four Lakers compete at Hamline Elite Meet

ST. PAUL – The Detroit Lakes girls track and field team was represented in two events on Friday at the Hamline Elite Meet.

Junior Abby Larson took ninth place in the 100-meter dash. She took 12th with a time of 12.70 in the preliminary races. Centennial’s Emily Anderson finished first with a time of 12.11.

In the 4x200-meter relay, Sasha Sekundiak, Mallory Fischer, Annie Paulson and Larson took ninth place with a time of 1:48.56. A relay team from Rosemount took first place at 1:44.30.

The Hamline Elite Meet is an invite-only competition and returned for the first time since 2019. Track and field programs from around the state submit times in hopes of being selected to compete among the best athletes in Minnesota.
