DETROIT LAKES – The Detroit Lakes girls track and field team took home six first-place finishes on Thursday night at the Craig Fredrickson Memorial Invite at Detroit Lakes High School.
Julia Steffl won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:48.32. She also ran in the 4x400-meter relay with Sadie Johnson, Lila Kallstrom and Marin Johnson to a fifth-place finish with a time of 4:39.12.
The team of Ella Paulson, Jerzie Horner, Haydon King and Abby Larson won the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 51.98. Horner also won the pole vault at 9-feet, with Jordan Ehnert (8-feet) and Skylar Nelson (8-feet) behind her in fourth and fifth.

Annie Paulson Paced the 300-meter hurdles to a time of 48.32. Lily Anderson wasn’t far behind in eighth at 55.83. Anie Paulson and Anderson also competed in the triple jump. Anderson took second at 33-feet, 5.5-inches, while Paulson came in sixth (31-feet, 4.5-inches). Sasha Sekundiak took fourth in the triple jump at 32-feet, 9.5-inches.
The Lakers continued to dominate the throwing events. Brenna Skadsem won the shot put at 33-feet, 10-inches. Jacee Hauser took second (32-feet, 8-inches), followed by Elle Bettcher (29-feet, 11-inches, 5th), Fallon Lowell (28-feet, 4-inches, 6th), Madi Gerdes (27-feet, 11-inches, 7th) and Jadyn Wimmer (27-feet, 9-inches, 8th).

Hauser (105-feet,1-inch) and Bettcher (100-feet, 10-inches) took the top two discus spots, with Lowell (88-feet, 5-inches), Skadsem (87-feet) and Madi Gerdes (79-feet,11-inches) in fourth, fifth and eighth.
Mallory Fischer took second in the long jump at 15-feet, 3.5-inches. Ella Paulson followed in sixth at 14-feet, 3.5-inches. King took seventh place at 14-feet, 0.25-inches.
Detroit Lakes rolled to a first-place finish with a team score of 155. Frazee (116.5) and Park Rapids (103.5) rounded out the top three.
