No. 4 Sauk Rapids-Rice’s pitcher Anna Schave fanned 12 batters and allowed no hits in a 10-0 victory over No. 6 Detroit Lakes in a Section 8AAA softball playoff elimination game Tuesday, June 8, in Bemidji.
After scoring one run in the first two innings, the Storm used four-run third and fifth inning outbursts to end the game by mercy rule.
The Lakers had only three base runners in the game.
Sydney Borgmann reached with one away in the second inning on an error by the Storm’s catcher on a pop up. She stole both second and third bases but was stranded on back-to-back strikeouts.
Sydney Haus reached on a dropped third strike with two outs in the fourth inning and was stranded on second base after stealing.

Siri Vagle reached on a two-out error at shortstop in the Lakers’ last at-bats during the fifth inning. She stole second base but the game ended when Megan Stalberger was retired for the third out.
Maddy Bellanger struck out six Storm batters and walked five for Detroit Lakes.
Sauk Rapids-Rice season finished at 5-17 after a six-inning, 12-2 loss to No. 3 Bemidji in the following game. Detroit Lakes season ends with a record of 2-20.
Top-seeded Sartell-St. Stephen advanced to the championship game with a 10-5 victory over No. 2 Alexandria. The Cardinals and Bemidji square off Thursday, June 10, at Sartell for a shot at the title game, where the winner will have to beat the Sabres twice on its home field.
