Labine, Johnnies’ 4x100 team, shooting for Nationals berth
Saint John's University's 4x100-meter relay team set a school record with a time of 41.32 seconds at Wisconsin-La Crosse's Last-Chance Qualifier on Thursday, May 17.
The meet served as the last chance for student-athletes to qualify for the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships May 24-26 back at La Crosse's Roger Harring Stadium.
The top 20 marks/times in each event advance to the national meet. The NCAA selections are scheduled to be announced at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 19, on www.ncaa.com.
SJU's 4x100-meter relay team (Nick Gannon, Drew Schoenbauer, Brady Labine, Ryan Miller) finished third in the event Thursday with a time of 41.32 seconds, the 15th-fastest in NCAA Division III this season. The time broke the previous school record of 41.76 seconds set in 1999 (Chris Seifert, Erik Hanson, Kyle Perreault, Dan Scherer).
