No. 5 Lake Park-Audubon and No. 4 New York Mills traded buckets in the final five seconds of regulation in a dramatic 55-54 victory Thursday night for the host Eagles to advance to the Section 6A boys basketball quarterfinals.

Trailing 53-52 with 23 seconds on the clock the Raiders had an inbounds opportunity at half court. The pass from the sideline nearly turned over but Tyler Bjerke saved the ball at the timeline to allow LP-A to set up.

The Raiders worked the ball to Brayden Ecker with under 10 seconds and Ecker drove the lane hitting a floater for what looked like the winning bucket.

The Eagles raced up the floor for the win.

Isaiah Laudenbach got the ball quickly to Tate Olson who found a streaking Jonah Johnson and the dagger layup with 1.2 seconds on the clock. A lengthy discussion ensued among coaches and officials about the remaining time after the first of two court storms from an enthusiastic New York Mills student section.
