The Jamestown speedway played host to its Top Gun Bombers and Mini Stocks Special Saturday, July 26, with Jamestown's Dylan Steele outlasting 17 bombers to win the 15-lap main event. Matt Pederson of Lake Park, Minnesota, won the mini stocks feature.
Winners also included Tye Wilke of Detroit Lakes in the Legends, Dentyn Schill in the slingshots, Kelly Hagel in the WISSOTA Midwest modifieds, Billie Christ in the WISSOTA streets, and John Nord in the IMCA modifieds.
"It was probably the best race track we've had all year as far as raciness," Jamestown Speedway co-owner Tim Baldwin said. "Two-and three-wide action and lots of passing. We've really been struggling to get the low side of the track to come in and this last weekend I think we finally got it after two or three weeks of trying," Baldwin said. "I think we're setting ourselves up for some good racing going into the Fourth of July, and the Mod Tour and other specials we have in July."

Wilke has been pulling double duty this season racing both INEX Legends and his sprint car finding plenty of success with both.

Wilke has continued to be a fixture at the head of the pack in every race, if not in front. His full year race stats dating back to January include 20 top five finishes and 10 wins, including another Legends victory Sunday, June 27, at Sheyenne Speedway after winning in Jamestown.
The Jamestown Speedway will host the opening night of the 32nd annual Dakota Classic Modified Tour on July 10 and the Northern Outlaw sprint cars are planned to visit the track on July 24.
A total of 117 entries comprised seven classes of cars competing last Saturday night.
"We've been really pleased with the car counts," Baldwin said. "It seems like everywhere is kind of struggling with cars a little bit and car counts are going down, and we've been holding pretty steady. We're thankful for that support from the drivers."
