The Guillotine released updated preseason state wrestling rankings Sunday, Jan. 10.
Detroit Lakes remained at the No. 3 position behind defending champions Simley and No. 2 Kasson-Mantorville.
Thief River Falls is the second ranked team from Section 8AA at No. 9.
Perham and Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus are just outside the top 12.
Three Lakers are ranked individually. All three were state participants last year.
A state runner-up at 138 pounds last year, Brody Ullyott is ranked No. 2 at 152 pounds to start his senior season.
Sophomore Cade Jackson reached the third place match at 126 pounds in 2020. He is ranked No. 7 at 145 pounds to start this year.
Heavyweight Andreas Barnett begins his senior season ranked No. 5 at 285 pounds.
