A burglary in progress was reported Tuesday night at the Teeny Weeny Miniature Cottage Shop in Duluth. Nicholas Wayne Devault told police that he just wanted to get a gift for his niece.
According to court records, on Feb. 14 two of them entered the mechanical room at Glacier Bay car wash and used tools to pry open the change machine. Video surveillance captured the incident.
On the evening of Aug. 8, he was seen “tearing up and down the road,” on 400th Avenue in rural Becker County. The silver, 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada he was driving broke down and a deputy found him with the car on the side of the road with the hood open.
In a seperate case, a man was sentenced for brandishing a replica handgun at the intersection of Main Avenue and Lake Street in Frazee.
There were several knives and drug paraphernalia on the passenger seat, and the vehicle smelled strongly of alcohol.
Felony assault, burglary and predatory offender cases also heard in Becker County District Court.

Other felony cases handled in Becker County District Court include burglary and violent threats.
On April 13 a Becker County homeowner noticed a dark figure walking away from her residence, and her dog was barking, so she caught up to the man.
On Friday, April 23, Detroit Lakes and Waubun each reported a burglary. Also, between 10:50 a.m. and 2:03 p.m. on Saturday, three burglaries were reported by individuals returning to their summer residences. The burglaries occurred in: Detroit Lakes, Ogema and Waubun.
