It’s not that I’m unhappy for someone who receives a blessing that I wanted but more my frustration will be, “Why not me God?  Why was I passed over?”   Hey this is Debbie Griffith with Everyday Matters. My husband Dan had such a situation years ago when a friend of his received a gift that he himself had been praying for and so Dan asked, “Why him God?  What’s wrong with me?”  In Dan’s eyes he was more worthy than is friend Kurt.  But like II Corinthians 3:3 points out, “If there is jealousy among you, are you not worldly?”  Ouch.

But when I have a godly attitude I’m sincerely thankful for the blessings of others plus I get the bonus of being blessed rather than feeling sorry for myself. This is exactly what happened with husband Dan because as soon as he began thanking God for Kurt’s blessing, he too received the very same gift.  Who knew?  God knows. It’s always His desire to give good gifts to His children...everyday.
