Andrew Robert Vonruden, 23, of rural Frazee has been charged in Becker County District Court with two felony counts of first-degree burglary, a felony count of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony count of third-degree burglary and gross misdemeanor DWI. According to court records, on Jan. 18, a Becker County deputy was advised of a vehicle stuck in a ditch. The driver, Vonruden, had left on foot.
Morgan Elizabeth Marie Anderson, 19, of Park Rapids has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime. According to court records, on Sept. 12, agents with the West Central Minnesota Drug and Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at a trailer house in rural Osage shared by her and an 18-year-old man who was also charged, and found 616 grams of marijuana and 338 grams of butane hash oil.
Two Frazee residents were injured Tuesday morning when their pickup truck lost control on a slippery Highway 10 and hit a concrete barrier on the Buffalo River Bridge in Clay County. Frank Lynn Noyes, 80, and Judith Jean Noyes, 78, both of Frazee, suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol. He was taken to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo. She was not taken to a healthcare facility.
Jason Lee Peterson, 37, of Audubon has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. A felony charge of first-degree criminal damage to property and a gross misdemeanor charge of violating an order for protection were dismissed in a plea agreement. According to court records, on July 18 Peterson was seen driving a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup truck in Audubon, which the day before had been awarded to his significant other in an order for protection.
Christopher Daniel Yost, 31, of Faribault has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony third-degree burglary. The original charge of second-degree burglary was reduced in a plea agreement. According to court records, on July 1, 2017, Becker County deputies were called to Harvest fellowship Church in Frazee, which had been burglarized overnight.
Two Deer Creek residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash on slippery roads Saturday on Highway 29 near Wadena. According to the State Patrol, Donald Clarence Gedde, 84, and Alice Alegts Gedde, 78, both of Deer Creek, suffered non life-threatening injuries and were taken to Tri-County Health Care in Wadena. They were traveling westbound on Highway 29 in a 2015 Ford Edge (a mid-sized crossover SUV) when they were T-boned by a 2004 Chevy Silverado pickup truck that was traveling southbound on Otter Tail County Road 75 and slid through the intersection.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has started accepting reservations for Bert's Cabins at Itasca State Park. These 12 cabins, near the headwaters of the Mississippi River, had been privately owned and operated since 1939. In December 2018, the current owners retired and sold the cabins to the DNR. Amenities at the cabins include air-conditioning, full kitchens and bathrooms with showers. The cabins will be open seasonally, from May 10 through Nov. 17. Prices range from $125 for a one-bedroom cabin to $220 for a three-bedroom cabin.
Walleye fishing regulations are changing starting Friday, March 1, on Lake of the Woods and the Rainy River, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. "These are extremely popular destinations not only in the spring, but all year long," said Phil Talmage, Baudette area fisheries supervisor with the DNR. "We're spreading the word to anglers to make sure they're aware of the new regulations."
Allen Lee Hamm Jr., 41, of Detroit Lakes has had a felony charge of nonsupport dismissed in Becker County District Court after meeting the conditions required by the court. According to court records, he had failed to pay child support since Dec. 8, 2015, and owed a total of $35,615 outstanding. He was first ordered to pay $452 a month in child support in 2001, along with $261 a month for child care and $50 a month in medical support, as well as reimbursement totaling $1,942.
Bret Ricardo Glatzmaier, 51, of rural Park Rapids, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony rustling and livestock theft. He was one of two men charged with felonies after selling cattle they did not own. The other was Christopher Charles Strehlow of Detroit Lakes.
