Not so sunny in DL

An early season storm dumped approximately 3 inches of snow on Detroit Lakes on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The fall harvest decorations and "Sunny in DL" sunfish adorning the downtown business district were covered in a mantle of fluffy white snowflakes.

An even larger snow storm is expected to sweep through the region on Thursday.

The fall harvest decorations out in front of Detroit Lakes' Washington Square Mall were beginning to look more like Christmas decorations on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 20, as an early season snowstorm dropped more than three inches of the white stuff on the community. (Vicki Gerdes / Tribune)
